Intro to Google Drawings – Max

Welcome to Google Drawings, a tool used by teachers and students alike to create many different projects, such as info graphics, graphs, compare/contrast diagrams, and flyers for important functions. This blog will show beginners how to use Google Drawings.

  1. To layer images – You can bring images forward and backward in Drawings by:
    1. Right clicking the picture
    2. Click the “Order” tab
        1. Then you have the options of:
        2. Bring to Front – All the way to the front of the drawing
          1. Keyboard Shortcut: Ctrl + Shift + “Up” Arrow
        3. Bring Forward – Bring in front of other layers
          1. Keyboard Shortcut: Ctrl + “Up” Arrow
        4. Send Backward – Send behind a different layer
          1. Keyboard Shortcut: Ctrl + “Down” Arrow
        5. Send to Back – Send all the way to the back of the drawing
          1. Keyboard Shortcut: Ctrl + Shift + “Down” Arrow
  2. To Insert Pictures –  Click Insert Tab

      1. Then you can choose from an image you’ve previously saved on your computer, or you can Google Search one you wantscreenshot-2016-10-06-at-10-32-44-am 
  3. Hyperlink to make it interactive –
    1. You can keyboard shortcut the hyperlink process by doing the command (Ctrl+k)
      1. Then entering your desired link into the box
    2. You can manually hyperlink text by:
      1. Selecting the text box
        1. Right-clicking to open the bar
          1. Click the “Link…” option at the bottom
            1. Then entering your desired link into the box
