6 easy tips for beginning YouTubers-by Mason Keith

YouTube is one of the most popular sites on the internet. Everybody who has touched a keyboard has been on YouTube and knows how to find videos. But YouTube offers more than watching videos.  This blog will show you 5 easy tips to help you understand YouTube better. 


Notifications allow you to be informed when your favorite channel uploads their newest video. To turn notifications on,  Go to your favorite YouTube channel, then subscribe to them if you are already not, then click the bell, then turn on notifications.



Do you ever start to watch a video but you get busy so you can not finish it? Well YouTube has a watch later option! While watching the video you want to watch later, click add to under the video, then click watch later. And then check your menu on the homepage and click on watch later to find it.

Everyone has their favorite channels to watch. Subscribing is the easiest way to keep in touch with those channels on a daily basis. A cool feature is that you can subscribe to certain categories on YouTube. For example, you can subscribe to music where you can watch the top trending songs or music videos everyday.

 Browsing channels:

You can browse recommended videos and recommended channels, on top of recommended categories with recommended channels under those categories. This is where you can start to find the popular channels of YouTube and this is the start to adding channels to your subscriptions so you can watch videos daily. 



To make a successful YouTube channel, analytics play the biggest role into growing your channel.  If you go to video manager, you can look at all the stats on your videos. If you click on analytics, you can see graphs on views over a certain time span, how your channel is growing, and also see what parts of the world is watching your videos. This can help you identify what you need to do to help advertise your channel or to attract other cultures to watch your content. 


 Omnibox shortcut:

This a shortcut used only through Google Chrome. Go to your search bar and type YouTube. Once you do that, click on tab which will set up a YouTube search  bar through your address bar.  To test it, type in music and click enter which will take you to YouTube’s top results for music.
