If you have tons of photos from your family vacation and want to ensure that those photos will be safe through your lifetime, I suggest you back them up into the google cloud. With the google drive app installed on your phone, you can copy your Android files and upload them to the Cloud. Plus it’s free!
Step 1: Set to Upload Files
Connect your Android phone to Wi-Fi hotspot or open cellular. Then open Google Drive on your Android phone. Set up your Google Drive, and log into your account. You will have the main page. Hit the red plus icon at the lower-right corner. Then choose the “Upload” button.
Step 2: Choose Files to Backup
Now you can navigate to files you want to backup. You can upload images, audio, video, Word/Excel/PPT/PDF documents, and more. In the “Open from” page, choose a folder where files you want to backup are stored. Then check items you want and click the button “Done”. Google Drive will backup those files to Cloud.
*NOTE* – This can also be performed on Chromebooks
Step 3: Integrating Google Photos
Any photos, videos , or GIFs uploaded into your Google Cloud, can be accessed in Google Photos from any device that you sign into. This frees up storage on your devices as well as saves them in a secure location.
