How to Enable Plugins on Google Chrome


When was the last time you saw this message? It’s garbage trash! All that you wanted to do is get on the page, right? Sure, you can click “run all plug-ins this time” but next time this pestering box returns and you have to do it all again. That extra click can really get tiring and painful, especially if you have crippling osteoporosis.

The following steps will quickly and safely show you how to permanently allow all plugins for Google Chrome.

Step #1: Identify your browser

If you are using a Chromebook from Ash Grove High School, you will only have the Google Chrome browser, so this step is optional.

The most user friendly way to do this is to head on over to This website will automatically detect and display on-screen your browser’s name and what version you are using.

As you can see, I am using Google Chrome, version 54.


Step #2: Enable Plugins


Click the three vertical dots in the upper right corner of your screen, and then click on “Settings” as shown in the image.

PLASDS.jpgThe next step is to scroll down, until you find the button that says

“Show Advanced Settings”.  Click that one.

Next, you scroll down a little until you find the “Plugins” section. Simple click “Run all plugin content”.  Now you should never see that annoying box ever again.
